A Quick Guide
to fitting Armacune Brake Pipes
(Later 2CV Models with rigid pipes only)
by Bonapart Products

1 Disconnect battery and remove fuel tank (make sure it’s nearly empty first).
2 Drain the hydraulic system.
3 Remove the old brake pipes. Try to keep their original bends intact. (see photo left)
4 The rear ‘curly’ brake pipes are secured inside the axle tube by an 11mm nut. (photo right) |

5 Undo clips on rear suspension arms and withdraw curly. Clean all parts to be retained (use methylated spirits for synthetic (DOT 3 or 4) systems and petrol for LHM systems)
6 Re-cycle brackets from old curlies by fitting them to the new Armacune curlies. (photo right)

7 New brake pipes from master cylinder to front and rear can be easily bent to match the old pipes. (photo left). Other pipes in the Armacune kit are pre-formed.
8 Carefully re-assemble the system using the correct pipe-end seals (green = LHM and red = Dot3 or 4). Do not over-tighten tube nuts as leakage can occur.
9 Fasten brake pipes securely at regular intervals to prevent movement / vibration.

10 Bleed system and test for leaks while it is under pressure. (photo right)
