Rabak - Juba (900km)

The drive took the rally across the marshes of southern Sudan, initially following the Upper Nile to Malakal stopping overnight, then taking the road by the Jonglei canal from Malakal to Bor, where it meets the river again following it south to the end of this stage at Juba.

Juba is the capital of Bahr el Gebel State and headquarters of the Bahr el Jebel Province; it is the historic capital of Southern Sudan.

A port on the White Nile, Juba is the southern terminus of river traffic in Sudan and is a highway hub, with roads radiating into Uganda, Kenya, and Congo. The University of Juba is in the city.

 

The rally leaves for Kampala on 30 April.
