Thursday 2nd Jan 2003 we set out early in the morning, but after a short time the wind blew up again and quickly interfered with our progress. We were only able to travel the short distance to El Golea with hankies tied over our mouths and nostrils. The dust got everywhere - in our ears, our eyes and of course into the engines.

We decided to stay put and clean up rather than pushing on further.
