Monaco

(Stage 5)

Saturday 30th November 2002
Many thanks to Emma for her contribution to the Rallye Sud Charity Appeal.

Rallye mail

Commercial Sponsors were still rather shy and we nearly got a huge sum from a local drink company with its distinctive brand, 'Corniche Pastis'. All sorts of folklore surrounds the origin of this interesting and relaxing spirit. Some say it was drunk by miners in the days before alchopops others swear that it has a different flavour at one end of the bottle to the other and some actually believe its origins were in the far north, north of Finnisterre (the end of the world) made by 'Brightons' or 'Bretons'.
