Rallye mail

The steep bendy, icy route was perfect for body parts suppliers as additional stopping power was achieved by using the energy absorbing bumpers, wings and body shells.

Sadly, none of the excellent 2CV parts organisations are supplying the Rallye at the moment (they are invited to e-mail to include a presence here and support the Rallye - insurance companies are welcome too!)

Anyone who wishes is free to contribute to the Rallye Sud Charity Appeal. All funds, without deduction will be given to the four charities at the end of the Rally as part of the completion celebration.

Any enterprises that sponsor the Rally are free to submit promotional material (identified as such) relevant to 2CV travel and life-style (e.g. tyres, car-parts, insurance, ferries and fine wines). Please contact us by e-mail.

The Rallyists have solved the dentination temporarily by using the big hammer and swapping parts with each other. Luckily expert garagists Pete Simper (PTS Citroen - West London 0208 560 3267), Barry Annells (Bourne Citroen Centre - Lincolnshire 01778 394 777) and Jeff Colmer (Totally 2CV - Southampton 01794 367766 ) are providing their services free of charge on this rest-over to bring the cars back to showroom condition.

Sadly we have our first casualty.
Dave Farmer is in the Richard III ward of Monaco General suffering from catatonic shock.
He is slightly delirious.

."The cat (Capucine) has now been encouraged to leave the capable.... hands of car... 19 driver Louise .... is currently brushing up on her road..... knowledge for the mammoth...... stage to Monte Carlo. .....Car 19 driver not happy...... with this arrangement ....may make a bid to reclaim her cat, .......she can catch us....? Yes.... Capucine will be driving the next stage.....she is in "rest mode" at the moment so ssssshhhhhhh, keep the noise down..... A new face on car 22 for the next stage would be an idea......could get a few people talking...... Am expecting a viscous counter .........attack from Louise...... to get her cat back..... lots of dirty ......tricks and possibly a smear campaign...... You can see where this is going....? If I pinched .....all the chocolate from Louise's....... car as well..... I hate to think what would happen......"

Message for Dave (car 19), sorry the shock of driving so fast down the mountains was too much for you. That cat is a maniac. I have brought you some e-grapes and some oil of lavender to soothe your furrowed eyebrows. Get well soon, Yvette (car 6)

the next leg...
