Rallye Sud a go go

Leg - Two, Off, Off & away

(Stage 2.3)
9th November 2002

Rallye mail

Refreshed by lunch the drivers carry on to the two wheel test.

It's alright for those who have time to stop for wine and food (Gerry).
We have been working hard on the 2 wheel requirement.
We shall use the steering wheel and the spare.
All road wheels have been removed and the spare mounted horizontally underneath the vehicle. A stream of hot air - gathered, with great ease, from various management and political meetings around the area - will be directed through this 'nozzle' in sufficient quantity to raise the vehicle the height of 6 pain aux raisins above the ground. (Choccy ones would melt in the desert) Steering will be with the steering wheel using the front wheel hubs as rudders. This, of course, will mean that the vehicle will have to travel backwards. This way we can watch all the other competitors who will be behind us anyway!! We shall use the trafficators as fine tuning on tight turns and would hope, after a bit of practice, to get the turning circle down to a radius of a string of 602 toulouse sausages.
The great thing about this method is that there is an endless supply of hot air throughout the world. If a shortage occurs one can just pop into the nearest office or local political rally with a portable hot air bag or two under the flak jacket.
Capn Duck # 9

Driving a vehicle on two wheels is an act of great skill particularly Citroens as they are designed to keep their wheels in contact with the ground.

Can you believe your eyes?

And on our way to gay Paree to arrive on the night of 9th November 2002...
