Rallye mail

On the morning of the weekend run from Bayeux
to Paris and after the programme of Parisian events seemed to
include more things than were imaginable 2CVist Lewis Combstock
sent this address which he thought might be interesting to Rallyers
In his life André Breton expressed the
wish to be taken along to the cemetery in a moving van. The 'Other
Bank' Company voluntarily breaks with the unobtrusive image of
the "funerary vehicle which takes along the late one" One
of these is an Ebony 2CV. Ashes of the deceased can be shot into
space in a rocket and they offer a wide range of interesting
coffins.
While we would hope that no-one has need during
during the Rally it might be worth noting for a later date. Rallying
is a dangerous sport

The Programme
After a last breakfast
with Alan & Jo we leave their farm to go to the start in
Bayeux. There will be time to look at the Tapistry before the
start at 10:00
A short run of
28km to Caen, along the N13 through Lisieux to Evreux (132km).
We stop here for lunch and the two-wheel test before resuming
along the Seine to Paris St Germain our base for the Parisian
stop.
Do not take the
road to Rouen it inspired the first version of the Edif Piaff
song "Regretta Rouen" and you will find out why if
you take the wrong turning.
Also do be aware
of your speed although there are signs suggesting that 110
is an OK speed they mean kilometers of course which are a lot
shorter than miles and you should compensate accordingly. The
vehicles will probably get more and more frisky as they scent
their spiritual mother (Paris) looming in the (approaching)
distance. Do ensure that enthusiasm doesn't get out of hand.
Just before the
start a new panel is added to the B-X tapistry to
commemorate the historic battle now being fought.
