This year's Retromobile show started
at 12 noon on Friday 16th February at the Paris Expo at Porte
de Versailles. We arrived shortly after the opening when people
were starting to go in.
Citroen was showing a DS, a rather elegant CX,
a light Fifteen, a beautiful black and white C6 from the 1920s,
an H-Van, a Dyane, a Mehari, an '007' 2CV and a Panhard military
vehicle. This year Citroen celebrates the 75th anniversary
of the Rosalie, the 70th anniversary of motor diesel and
the 40th anniversary of the Dyane.

Below: Citroscopie had a
model Citroen tractor with the chevron
design on the rear wheels.
Below: There was a large
area named 'The Peugeot Adventure' to celebrate Peugeot's
99 years in competitive motor sport with many
Peugeot vehicles including some very early models. The display
included cars, motorcycles and three cars that had done the
Le Mans 24-hour race.
Talbot had a number of vehicles
on display including a Lago.
There was a display of De la
Haye models.
As always it was an excellent
exhibition with lots of beautifully cared-for cars on display
that we were able to look at close up. As you can see from
the pictures below there were some model cars and
examples of early motobikes display.
There were books, catalogues,
magazines, DVDs and memorabilia for sale.
A wide range of vehicle-associated items such as spares, tools and polishes were
offered, plus 'outdoor' driving apparel including goggles, boots and waterproof
coats, some were made out of buffalo hide from Australia.
As ever, this being France, good
catering was available offering everything from a quick coffee
and sandwich to a full four-course meal.
