Having enjoyed participating in the UK 2CV 24-hour race at Snetterton, Glen Burtenshaw and Robin Webb decided that they would like to try their luck in the 2CV 24-hour race at Spa Francorchamps. Steve Sykes organised the hire of a car; Steve Panas and Andy Smith decided to join in as the third and fourth drivers. Richard Hollis was going to Spa anyway and offered to help in the pits, which was just as well. At Spa Derek Coghill arrived and joined Richard as the second mechanic.
